With a background as an Educator, Manager, and Cabinetmaker, Steve obtained his General Contracting License in 1998 and began building Spec homes. As a very hands-on Designer/Builder, handling all the aspects of building homes for speculation, Steve’s attention to detail attracted clients and became the avenue to building Custom Homes.

Steve puts a great emphasis on teamwork. “As we work for clients we try to put ourselves in their shoes.” Recognizing the fact that each client is unique and looking at their needs, how they live, and how they entertain are the details that give a home its personality. Certainly the key components of a successful project are obviously to be on time and on budget, but rapport is not to be overlooked. “ It’s easy to have a good rapport at the front end of a project, but a true token of success is when you’ve got a good relationship upon completion of the project. We’ve had situations where we end up doing multiple projects for the same client. That’s a true compliment.”

SWGC draws from a great team in the various trades. This team is the backbone of the company. “The key to the success of this business has been in assembling a great team of craftsmen. We have our own seasoned and skilled carpenters, and can really deliver what we’re selling. We talk about a good clean, straight ahead approach of accountability when we handle a project and it’s important to deliver on all of those aspects. From the beginning of the project to the end, it’s crucial to service our client and to stick with them.”
